How do I start service with NEXTEL?

NEXTEL has a $25 Activation fee and a credit check is required for service. To start NEXTEL service, pick a digital rate plan that fits your needs, then come by any of our offices to start your service.

When do my minutes start and stop?

Each customer has his/her own billing cycle. Call NEXTEL customer care at 1-800-639-6111 for your specific billing cycle.

What do I do if my phone is lost or stolen?

You must call NEXTEL customer service at 1-800-639-6111 to have your service suspended.

If you have insurance on your NEXTEL unit: have the representative transfer you to Signal Insurance to file your claim. They will give you further information on how, where, and when to pick up your replacement unit.

If you don't have insurance: Stop by any of our stores to purchase a new unit. We may also have used units for sale.

What do I do if I think my bill is incorrect?

Call NEXTEL customer service at 1-800-639-6111 and request a detailed print out of your bill. Customer service will mail you this copy which will include all calls made and received.

How can I upgrade my current rate plan?

Upgrading your current rate plan is simple. Call customer care at 1-800-639-6111 and they can change your rate to any existing rate plan that is currently available.

Will other cellular carrier's phones work on NEXTEL's system?

No. NEXTEL uses a proprietary digital system. Only NEXTEL units will work on their towers and system.

Can I receive pages on my phone?

Text and alphanumeric pages can be received on any NEXTEL phone. The phone must be in NEXTEL's coverage area to receive pages.

What do I need to do to set up (or stop) roaming on my phone?

NEXTEL phones automatically roam. There are no roaming charges with NEXTEL. Call customer care at 1-800-639-6111 to get more information on disabling the roaming feature.

Which phone is the "best" phone?

Picking the best phone is really depending on each customer's personal needs as well as comfort. Some phones are larger and some are smaller than others. Each phone also has different features included in the unit. The way to find out which unit is right for you is to stop by your nearest Cellular Concepts location.

What is your "best" deal?

The "best" deal for one customer may not be the "best" for another. For example, a customer who needs a cellular phone for emergency use doesn't need a phone with 1500 monthly minutes, nor does a daily user need a 0 minute package.
